By Boat
The ferry port is 500m to east of the koules fortress and old harbour. Minoan, Anek and Blue Star companies all operate daily (two) ferries from Pireaus (the port of Athens) to Heraklion (it takes approximately eight hours for arrive from Pireaus to Heraklion by boat). Anek also has a weekly service from Heraklion to Karpathos, Kasos, Milos, Rhodes and Santorini. Hellenic Seaways goes from Heraklion to Mykonos, Paros, Santorini daily. The fastest boat Heraklion to Santorini is operated by Sea Jets.
